I hope you all have a fun weekend filled with friends, good food and nice weather! In a few hours I'll be in nyc...Words on the street is that it's going to be a really warm weekend! Finally.

Magnolia's bakery is famous for their cupcakes (yes, carrie bradshaw loves them to) but my favourite thing their is the Banana Pudding. Seriously, its the BEST thing ever. I didn't even think I liked banana bread pudding until I had it from there!! You must try it next time you're in New York.

Empire State of Mind

Do you ever get the urge to just pack a bag and go somewhere?
Today I had that urge :) and as a result, I decided to book a last minute flight to NYC. My best friend Taryn lives there (she currently works as a personal shopper for the Chanel Department at Bergdorfs) and I thought it would be the perfect weekend to visit her and do some much needed Spring shopping (well it isn't so much needed as it is wanted). So off I go to New York this Friday, to shop, walk, and check out all the latest and greatest that the city has to offer. And stay tuned for pictures from the trip! Taryn already has things planned for us, including a Sunday brunch in Brooklyn followed by some vintage shopping.

To get into the New York spirit, I thought it would be fun to post some pics of the most expensive private residences in the city.

The first one is located in the Pierre Hotel (across from Central Park). For a very small (re: sarcasm) price tag of just $70 million dollars, this chateau in the sky could be yours. Keep in mind, this is the highest price ever listed for a city residence.

Remember little Eloise, the girl who made us all want to grow up in The Plaza? Well, for $15 million dollars, you too could live the good life in style at the new Versace Residences at The Plaza Hotel.

A J.Crew Summer

                       J.Crew is one of those stores I get majorly excited about at the start of each season. Come Winter, Fall, Summer and Spring, I find myself browsing their online catalogue, admiring all the new pieces and wishing that just maybe, I could look as well-put together as the J.Crew models. 
Whether it's a chunky gold necklace strung together with a creme ribbon and pearls, or a floral pair of boyfriend shorts, J.Crew's look is always romantic and feminine; and that' why I love it so much.

One girl in particular, who embodies the J.Crew style to a T is Jenna Lyons- also known as J.Crew's amazingly talented Creative Director.

Domino Magazine had the rare opportunity to go inside Jenna's Brooklyn Home.

She even converted a full bedroom into her closet!

A Navy Tea

Why not have a whimsical tea party outside this Spring? Start off by finding a large navy blue table linen. If you can't find one, you could go to a fabric store and have them cut you a piece large enough to touch the ground on all four sides.

Next,  find yourself some wooden chairs..Head over to flea markets, vintage stores or garage sales. Having a mix of different styles (in the same finish) would also look great!

And to finish off the look we need umbrellas! Any pattern would work, just make sure to stick with one pattern!

Have fun with accessories! I love the idea of gathering a bunch of tin buckets and lining them up in a row along the middle of the table (each about four inches from the next). Fill them with blue berries or flowers to complete the look!

                                

Give each guest a hemp tea bag with loose leaf tea. Place each bag beside the teacups

The Thompson Hotel

From New York to LA, Chicago to DC, the Thompson Hotel has made its mark on some of the hottest cities in North America. It's next stop: Toronto.
Right now, Toronto seems to be one of the most promising cities around and developers are definitely taking note. Top hoteliers like The Four Seasons, Shangri-La, Trump and Ritz are currently in construction mode and should be opening within the next few years.

I'm excited to share with you, the opening of the Thompson Hotel Toronto, coming this May. Known best for its celebrity status and rooftop pool, this will definitely be the 'go-to' place all summer long.

And what else has people talking? The hotel's restaurant, Scarpetta. Already a favourite in New York and Miami, celebrity chef Scott Conant is bringing his wonderful restaurant North, becoming one of the first celebrity owned restaurants in our wonderful city.

Discovered just a year ago, Anne and Kirby Kenny are the most saught-after models of the moment and have already walked all of fashions hottest runways including Prada, Missoni and  Proenza Schouler. At the young age of 17, these twins are definately taking the fashion world by storm.
